Electro-Motive GP9 Diesels

1696 was rebuilt in April 1958, #24681, FN 8052-2, as Midland Valley RR 153, GP7, February 1953 #17849, FN 6493-3.  It was wrecked at Bokosle, OK, on February 1, 1958, and the remains went to EMD as a GP9.  It was renumbered 109 in 1962 and became Texas & Pacific 109 in 1967.  It became MP 1696 in 1974 and traded back to EMD.
