Hudson & Manhattan RR
Port Authority-Trans Hudson
The H&M was opened in 1908 between Manhattan and Newark, NJ, with a branch to Hoboken. It was jointly operated with the Pennsylvania RR since their tracks were used from Hudson Terminal to Newark. In 1962 the entire operation was taken over by the Port of New York Authority and became PATH.
256, Class B, was built by Pressed Steel Car Co in 1909. It was acquired by National Museum of Transportation in 1962.
701 thru 736, Class D, were built by Pressed Steel Car Co in 1911 and rebuilt in 1949. All are now gone.
401 thru 425, Class E, were built by American Car & Foundry in 1921 and rebuilt in 1949. All are now gone.
451 thru 475, Class G, were built by American Car & Foundry in 1923 and rebuilt in 1949. All are now gone.
1200 thru 1229, Class K, were built by St Louis Car in 1958 as Pennsylvania RR Class MP52. A few are still operating in work train service.
600 thru 709, Class PA1, were built by St Louis Car in 1965. Most are still in service.
