8000 was built in March 1979, #786167-1, FN 786167-1, as Louisville & Nashville 8000, Class SD40-2.  It became SBD 8000 in January 1983 and later CSX Transportation 8000, Class SD40-2, in April 1986.

8005 was built in March 1979, #786167-6, FN 786167-6, as L&N 8005, Class SD40-2. It became SBD 8005 in January 1983 and later  CSX 8005, Class SD40-2, in April 1986.  It was rebuilt as 4034, Class SD40-3, in 2012.

8006 was built in March 1979, #786167-7, FN 786167-7, as L&N 8006, Class SD40-2,  It beccame SBD 8006 in January 1983 and later CSX 8006, Class SD40-2, in April 1986.

8008 was built in March 1979, #786167-9, FN 786167-9, as L&N 8008, Class SD40-2.  It became SBD 8008 in January 1983 and later CSX 8008, Class SD40-2, in April 1986.

8012 was built in April 1979, #786167-13, FN 786167-13, as L&N 8012, Class SD40-2.  It became SBD 8012 in January 1983 and later CSX 8012, Class SD40-2, in April 1986.  It was rebuilt as 4036, Class SD40-3, in 2012.

8013 was built in April 1979, #786167-14, FN 786167-14, as L&N 8013, Class SD40-2.  It became SBD 8013 in January 1983 and later CSX 8013, Class SD40-2, in April 1986.
