18000, Class 4, was built by Brown Boveri, #4559, and Swiss Locomotive & Machine Works #3977, in 1949. It was ordered by Great Western in 1946 but it was ready for service in February 1950 long after it was taken over as BR. It was given tests but it was not a successful machine and it was retired in December 1960. It was returned to Europe and became a testbed. It was put on display in Vienna in 1975 and secured it for preservation at the Crewe Heritage Centre in early 1990s. It was sent to Barrow Hill Engine Shed and then to Gloucestshire Warwickshire Ry in April 2010. Then it went to Didcot Railway Centre in July 2011.
24 054 "Phil Southern", Class 24/1, was built at Crewe in 1960 as D5054, Type 2. It was renumbered 24 054, Class 24/1, in 1973 and was rebuilt as 97202 for training purposes in 1975. It was rebuilt in 1978 as 968008, train heating locomotive. It was retired in 1982 and acquired by East Lancashire Ry. It was restored as D5054.
24 081, Class 24/1, was built at Crewe in 1960 as D5081, Type 2. It was renumbered 24 081, Class 24/1, in 1973 and retired in 1980 and acquired by Gloucestershire Warwickshire Ry.
31018, Class 31/0, was built by Brush Traction on October 31, 1957, as D5500. It was renumbered 31018 on December 31, 1973, and retired on July 10, 1976. It went to National Railway Museum at York.
31405, Class 31/4, was built by Brush Traction on April 14, 1960, as D5606. It was renumbered as 31405, on December 31, 1973, and named "Mappa Mundi, On May 5, 1991. It was unamed on May 31, 1997, and later retired.
43003, "Isambard Kingdom Brunel", Class 43, was built by British Rail Engineering Ltd 1975. It became ScotRail 43003 in 2004 and became Abellio Scotrail in 2015.
45060, " Sherwood Forester", Class 45, was built at Crewe on May 8, 1961, as D100. It was renumbered 45060 on December 31, 1973, and retired on December 8, 1985. It was sold to Pioneer Diesel Group.
47376, Class 47/3, was built by Brush Traction on September 1, 1965, #657, as D1895. It was renumbered 47376 on December 31, 1973, and named "Skylark" on November 21, 1989, and unamed on July 31, 1995. It was transferred to Freightliner as 47376, Class 47, on August 28, 1995, and retired on December 31, 2002. It was preserved by Gloucestershire Warwickshire Ry.
90041, Class 90/0, was built by British Rail Engineering Ltd on May 4, 1990 at Crewe. It was transferred to Freightliner Group as 90041, Class 90/0, in 1996.
D2079, 0-6-DM, Class 03 was built in 1960. It was renumbered 3079 and acquired to Derwent Valley Light Ry.
D2298, 0-6-0DM, Class 04, was ordered by Drewry Co, #2679, and built by Robert Stephenson and Hawthorne in October 1960, #8157. It was retired in December 1968 and sold as Derwent Valley Light Ry 1 "Lord Wenlock" in April 1969. It was retired in 1982 and sold to Quainton Railway Society and restored as BR D2298.
D3771, 0-6-0DE, Class 08, was built at Derby Works in June 1959. It was assigned to Longsight in June 1959 and reassigned Stockport Edgely in July 1959. It was reassigned back to Longsight in April 1965 and unofficially named "Ardwick". It was renumbered 08604 in February 1974 and stored at Swindon Works in 1984. It was reassigned to Tyseley TMD in February 1984 and unofficially renamed Javelin. It was officially renamed Phantom at Bescott in November 1988 and reassigned at Derby Etches Park in November 1992. It was retired in July 1993 and sold to Didcot Ry Centre in September 1994.
D9516, 0-6-0DH, Class 14, was built at Swindon Works in 1964. It was retired in April 1968 and sold as Stewarts and Lloyds Minerals 36. It was sold for preservation in 1982 and ran as Nene Valley Ry D9516. It was sold as Wensleydale Ry D9516 in 2011 and resold as Didcot Ry Centre D9516 in May 2014.
