Electro-Motive GP38-2 Diesels

7940-7999

7940, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1972, #7354-1, FN 7354-1, as Penn Central 7940, Class EF-20..  It became Consolidated Railroad Corp 7940, Class GP38-2, in April 1976. It went to General Motors as 740 in July 1987. It went to Union Pacific as 1910 on August 16, 1997, and was renumbered 410 on April 10, 2001. It was retired on May 20, 2003, and became Locomotive Leasing Partners 2301.  It was sold as Iowa Interstate RR 700 on December 22, 2004.

7942, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1972, #7354-3, FN 7353-3, as PC 7942, Class EF-20. It became Conrail 7942, Class GP38-2, in April 1976. It went to GM as 742 in July 1987. It went to UP as 1911, Class GP38-2, on October 28, 1997, and was renumbered 411 on May 18, 2001.  It was retired on May 20, 2003, and became LLPX 2302.

7946, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1972, #7354-7, FN 7354-7, as PC 7946, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7946, Class GP38-2, in April 1976.  It went to GM as 746 in July 1987.  It went to UP as 1913, Class GP38-2, on September 3, 1997, and was renumbered 413 on December 14, 2000.  It was retired on May 20, 2003, and became LLPX 2304.

7947, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1972, #7354-8, FN 7354-8, as PC 7947, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7947, Class GP38-2, in April 1976 and went to GM as 747 in July 1987.  It became General American Transportation Co as GMTX 2204 in 2013.

7950, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1972, #7354-11, FN 7354-11, as PC 7950, Class EF-20. It became Conrail 7950, Class GP38-2, in April 1976. It went to GM as 750 in July 1987. It went to UP as 1915, Class GP38-2, on October 19, 1997, and was renumbered 415 on February 26, 2001.  It was retired on May 20, 2003, and became LLPX 2306.

7954, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1972, #7354-15, FN 7354-15, as PC 7954, Class EF-30.  It became Conrail 7954, Class GP38-2, in April 1976 and sold to GM as 754 on July 15, 1987.  It was sold as UP 1917, Class GP38-2, on July 30, 1997, and renumbered 417 on March 20, 2001.  It was retired on May 20, 2003, and sold as LLPX 2307.  It was sold as IAIS 704 on December 13, 2004, and sold to Progress Rail as PRLX 704 on May 24, 2013.

7955, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1972, #7354-16, FN 7354-16, as PC 7955, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7955, Class GP38-2, in April 1976 and went to GM as 755 in July 1987.  It went to UP as 1918, Class GP38-2, on May 24, 1997, and was renumbered 418 on March 6, 2001.  It was retired on February 10, 2003, and became LLPX 2279.

7956, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1972, #7354-17, FN 7354-17, as PC 7956, Class EF-20. It became Conrail 7956, Class GP38-2, in April 1976. It went to GM as 756 in July 1987.

7957, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1972, #7354-18, FN 7354-18, as PC 7957, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7957, Class GP38-2, in April 1976.  It went to GM as 757 in April 1987 and sold to UP as 1919 on May 7, 1997.  It was renumbered 419 on February 18, 2001, and retired on March 1, 2003.  It was sold as LLPX 2281.

7958, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1972, #7354-19, FN 7354-19, as PC 7958, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7958, Class GP38-2, in April 1976.  It went to GM as EMDX 758 in July 1987 and became GMTX 2209 in 2013.  It was sold to WATCo as WAMX 3880.

7960, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1972, #7354-21, FN 7354-21, as PC 7960, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7960, Class GP38-2, in April 1976.  It went to GM as EMDX 760 in July 1987 and became GMTX 2211 in 2013.  It was sold as WAMX 3881.

7962, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1972, #7354-23, FN 7354-18, as PC 7962, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7962, Class GP38-2, in April 1976.  It went to GM as EMDX 762 in July 1987.

7964, Class GP38-2, was built in June 1972, #7354-24, FN 7354-24, as PC 7964, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7964, Class GP38-2, in April 1976.  It went to GM as EMDX 764 in July 1987.  It went to UP as 1921, Class GP38-2, on September 23, 1997, and was renumbered 421 on March 27, 2001.  It was retired on October 14, 2004, and became LLPX 2308.

7965, Class GP38-2, was built in June 1972, #7354-26, FN 7354-26, as PC 7965, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7965, Class GP38-2, in April 1976.  It went to GM as EMDX 765 in July 1987.  It went to UP as 1922, Class GP38-2 on June 5, 1997, and was renumbered 422 on May 8, 2001.  It was retired on on May 20, 2003, and became LLPX 2309.

7967, Class GP38-2, was built in June 1972, #7354-28, FN 7354-28, as PC 7967, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7967, Class GP38-2, in April 1976.  It went to GM as EMDX 769 in July 1987.  It became GMTX 2214 in 2013.

7980, Class GP38-2, was built in June 1972, #7354-41, FN 7354-41, as PC 7980, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7980, Class GP38-2, in April 1976 and sold to GM as 780 in July 1987.

7981, Class GP38-2, was built in July 1972, #7354-42, FN 7354-42, as PC 7981, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7981, Class GP38-2, in April 1976 and sold to GM as 781 in July 1987.   It became GMTX 2221 in 2013.

7982, Class GP38-2, was built in July 1972, #7354-43, FN 7354-43, as PC 7982, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7982, Class GP38-2, in April 1976 and sold to GM as 782 on July 15, 1987.  It was sold as UP 1931, Class GP38-2, on September 23, 1997, and renumbered 431 on July 13, 2001.  It was sold as LLPX 2315 on May 20, 2003, and sold as IAIS 710 on September 24, 2004.

7983, Class GP38-2, was built in June 1972, #7354-44, FN 7354-44, as PC 7983, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7983, Class GP38-2, in April 1976 and sold to GM as 783 in July 1987.

7986, Class GP38-2, was built in July 1973, #7354-47, FN 7354-47, as PC 7986, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7986, Class GP38-2, in April 1976 and sold to GM as 786 in July 1983.  It was sold as UP 1933, Class GP38-2. on January 27, 1998, and renumbered 433 on December 27, 2001.  It was retired on May 20, 2003, and sold as LLPX 2317.  It became General American Transportation Co as GMTX 2195.

7993, Class GP38-2, was built in July 1973, #7354-54, FN 7354-54, as PC 7993, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7993, Class GP38-2, in April 1976 and sold to GM as 793 in July 1983.  It was leased to Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe and numbered as 9793.  It was sold as UP 1936 on August 24, 1997, and renumbered 436 on November 17, 2001.  It was retired on May 20, 2003, and sold as LLPX 2318.  It became as GMTX 2180.

7996, Class GP38-2, was built in July 1972, #7354-57, FN 7354-57, as PC 7996, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7996, Class GP38-2, in April 1976 and sold to GM as 796 in July 1987.  It was sold as UP 1939, Class GP38-2, on December 13, 1997, and renumbered 439 on March 25, 2001.  It was sold as LLPX 2320 on May 20, 2003, and sold as IAIS 713 on December 22, 2004.

7998, Class GP38-2, was built in August 1972, #7354-59, FN 7354-59, as PC 7998, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7998, Class GP38-2, in April 1976.  It went to GM as 798 in July 1987 and sold as GMTX 2229.

7999, Class GP38-2, was built in August 1972, #7354-60, FN 7354-60, as PC 7999, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7999, Class GP38-2, in April 1976.  It went to GM as 799 in July 1987 and sold as GMTX 2230.
