2601 was built in May 1970, #36157, FN 711393, as Nacionales de Mexico 8533, Class DE-31, SDP40. It became Class E70-2500HP in July 1974 and became Transportation Ferroviarria Mexicana 8533. It was renumbered 1320 and rebuilt by Electro-Motive in 2009 as KCS 2601.
2651 was built in June 1980, #786260-2, as KCS 692, SD40-2. It was rebuilt by Electro-Motive in June 2009 as KCSM 2651, SD22ECO.
