Electro-Motive SW1 Diesels

1000, Class DS-1, was built in February 1939, #804  FN E257-1, as Electro-Motive Corp 804.  It was sold as SP 1000 on April 1. 1939,  and reclassified in 1966 as Class ES406-1.  It was sold as Holly Sugar Co 1 in December 1967 and donated to California State Railroad Museum.  It planned to restore as SP 1000.

1004, Class DS-4, was built in November 1939, #975, FN E281-1.  It was reclassified in 1966 as Class ES406-2 and sold as Cargill Co 1004.

1005, Class DS-4, was built in November 1939, #976, FN E281-2.  It was reclassified in 1966 as Class ES406-2 and  renumbered as MW566 on October 26, 1967.  It was sold to Precision National Corp in July 1976.

1006, Class DS-4, was built in November 1939, #977, FN E281-3.  It was reclassified in 1966 as Class ES406-2 and resold as Bethlehem-Pacific Coast Steel Co 4.  It was renumbered 15.

1007, Class DS-4, was built in November 1939, #978, FN E281-4.  It was reclassified in 1966 as Class ES406-2 and resold in May 1967 as Parker Brothers Co 1007.  It was later resold as Western RR 1007.

1010, Class DS-6 was built in April 1941, #1316, FN E385-1.  It was reclassified Class ES406-3 in 1966 and sold to Precision National on June 3, 1970.   It was rebuilt by Darby Corp in April 1971 as Kansas City Southern slug 204 and renumbered 4254 in January 1973.  It was sold as Railway  Sw1tching Service as 4254 and sold as Cedar Rapids & Iowa City 124.
