This narrow gauge road was incorporated in 1866 and was opened from Johnson City, TN, to Cranberry, NC, in 1881, and was extended to Boone, NC, in 1916 as the Linville River RR. The extension was abandoned in 1931. A third rail was in place from Johnson City to O'Brien for standard gauge operation. The narrow gauge was abandoned in 1950 and the road now operates from Johnson City to O'Brien.  The line was sold in 1985 and renamed.

7 was built by Alco-Brooks in June 1906, #39951, and was scrapped in 1940.

11 was built by Baldwin in 1916, #42852. It was retired in 1950 and scrapped in 1951.

14 was built by Baldwin in 1919, #52406,  It was sold as White Pass & Yukon 14 in 1942.  It was burned in December 1943 and sent Seattle for scrap in December 1945.

207 was built by Alco-Richmond in February 1904, #28446, as Southern Ry 630, Class Ks-1.  It was sold to ETWNC as 207 in 1952 and sold as Southern Ry 630, Class Ks-1, in 1968 to Tennessee Valley Ry Museum.

208 was built by Baldwin in October 1904, #24729, as Southern 722, Class Ks-1.  It was sold to ETWNC as 208 in November 1952 and sold to Southern RR in December 1967.  It was sold to Georgia Industrial Real Estate Co in February 1968 and leased to TVRM as Southern Ry 722 in 1968.  It was later sold as Great Smoky Mountain RR 722 in December 2000. and sold to TVRM as Southern Ry 722 in 1968.  It was later sold as Great Smoky Mountain RR 722.

209, RS3,  was built by Alco in September 1950, #78246, as Central of Georgia 108, Class DF-2.  It was sold to ETWNC as 209 in December 1967.

210, RS3,  was built by Alco in September 1950, #78247, as CofG 109, Class DF-2.  It was sold to ETWNC as 210 in December 1967,

211, RS32, was built by Alco in March 1962, #84027, as Southern Pacific 7302, Class DF-618.  It was renumbered 4002, Class AS420-1, in 1966 and retired in May 1977.  It was sold as Chrome Crankshaft Co 4002 in September 1978 and sold as ETWNC 211 in August 1980.  It became ETRY 211 in 1984 and sold as Delaware Valley Ry 211.  It then was sold as Tishomingo RR 211 and then in October 2004 as Delaware-Lackawanna RR 211.
