Colorado Midland RR
Midland Terminal Ry.
Stations
Once upon a time this railroad ran from Colorado Springs to Grand Junction. Ricki Phillips has an excellent history on his web pages.
The Colorado Springs terminal was the Santa Fe's Union Station. The train is a CM train preparing to leave.
Nearby was the shop area.
Six miles out was Manitou Springs.
The Manitou Iron Springs trestle was just west of Manitou Springs.
Cascade Canon was 14 miles west of Colorado Springs.
The next station was Green Mountain Falls. The hotel and cottages can be seen in the background.
At Woodland Park the line made a 90 degree change in direction.
A little further was Divide, where there was a connection to Cripple Creek.
Halfway down the branch was Midland. The troops in uniform were the Deputy Rear Guard.
Near the South Platte River crossing was Hartsel.
The Continental Divide was crossed at Hagerman Pass.
Basalt became a Standard Oil station.
Farther west was New Castle.
At the west end was Grand Junction. It was a Union Station shared with Denver & Rio Grande.
