M Series Express Motors and Trailers
M1 was built at Cold Spring Shops in 1917 along the lines of the 700 Class City Cars. The trucks were replaced in 1924 and became Kenosha Motor Coach Lines M1 in 1946. It was sold to WEPCo at Port Washington Power Plant after 1948. It was sold to Wisconsin Electric Railway Historical Society in 1979 and then was sold to Illinois Railway Museum in 1989.
M12 was built by St. Louis Car in 1904 as a 1260, coach trailer. It was rebuilt in 1919 as M12, an express trailer car used for milk container service. It was motorized in 1922 and demotorized in 1927. It was scapped in April 1941.
M14 was built at Cold Springs Shops in 1920 as a trailer. It was motorized in 1924 and became KMCL M14 in 1946. It was scrapped in 1952.
M15 was built at Cold Spring Shops in 1920 as a trailer, but it was motorized almost immediately. It was transferred to the isolated East Troy operation in 1939, and sold to the Municipality of East Troy in 1949. It is sold to WERHS in 1982 and now preserved at the IRM in 1989.
M16 was built at Cold Spring Shops in 1920 as a trailer, It was motorized in 1921 and wrecked and scrapped on November 1, 1940.
M17 was built by St. Louis Car in 1903 as coach 1009. It was rebuilt in 1926 as a combintion-express motor. The passenger section was closed in 1937 and scrapped in 1941.
M19 was built by St. Louis Car in 1903 as coach 1012. It was rebuilt in 1923 as a combination-express motor. The passenger section was closed in 1931 and scrapped in April 1941.
M20 was built by St. Louis Car in 1903 as coach 1015. It was rebuilt in 1924 as an express motor. It was scrapped in July 1945.
M21 was built by St. Louis Car in 1903 as coach 1011. It was rebuilt in 1923 as express trailer M21. In 1925 the trucks were replaced with St. Louis 23M trucks from 1109. It was retired in April 1941 and scrapped.
M23 was built by St. Louis Car in 1903 as coach 1014. It was rebuilt in 1924 as express motor M23. It was scrapped in April 1941.
M25 was built by St. Louis Car in 1903 as coach 1017. It was rebuilt in 1926 as a combination-express trailer and the ends were designed for service into the Chicago loop. It was motorized in 1929 and scrapped in 1941.
M26 was built by St, Louis Co in 1903 as coach 1018. It was rebuilt in 1926 as a combination-express trailer and motorized in 1929. It was sent to the Port Washington power plant and later was stripped as a flat car.
M37 was built at Cold Spring in 1931. It was designed to move containers in the interurban routes and equipped with a pumper for use at Lakeside. It is sold to WERHS in 1982 and now preserved at the IRM in 1989.
M38 was built at Cold Springs in 1931. It was scrapped in 1946.
M43 was built at Cold Springs in 1931. It was rebuilt in 1933 with 6 foot sliding doors. When the service ended, the car was used for storage. It was sold to Milwaukee Rapid Transit & Speedrail in 1949 and scrapped in 1952.
