Small St. Louis Cars 1101-1423

 

These cars were built by St. Louis Car in 1903 and 1906 for Chicago Union Traction Co. They are similar to the Robertson design without the small windows. Cars of this series were converted to one man operation in later years and have a wide horizontal stripe on the front to denote this. Two were used for an experimental articulated train.  A number of these cars were converted to sand and salt service and as flangers.

 

1101-1199

1101 was built by St Louis Car Co in 1903 as Chicago Union Traction Co 4630.  It was renumbered 1101 in 1913 and became CSL 1101 in 1914.  It was renumbered 1104 in 1925 and retired on April 2, 1937.

1102 was built by St Louis Car Co in 1903 as CUT 4631,  It was renumbered 1102 in 1913 and became CSL 1102 in 1914.  It was renumbered 1105 in 1925 and retired on April 2, 1937.

1103 was built by St Louis Car Co in 1903 as CUT 4632.  It was renumbered 1103 in 1913 and became CSL 1103 in 1914,  It was retired on April 31, 1937.

1104 was built by St Louis Car Co in 1903 as CUT 4633.  It was renumbered 1104 in 1913 and became CSL 1104 in 1914.  It was renumbered 1101 in 1925.  With 1102, it was rebuilt as articulated train 4000 using a Cincinnatii Car steel vestibule drum between the bodies.  It was completed on August 3, 1925, and scrapped on March 30, 1937.

1110 was built by St Louis Car Co in 1903 as CUT 4639.  It was renumbered 1110 in 1913 and became CSL 1110 in 1914.  It was retired on March 25, 1946.

1111 was built by St Louis Car Co in 1903 as CUT 4640.  It was renumbered 1111 in 1913 and became CSL 1111 in 1914.  It was retired on April 19, 1937.

1112 was built by St Louis Car Co in 1903 as CUT 4641  It was renumbered 1112 in 1913 and became CSL 1112 in 1914.  It was retired on April 5, 1937.

1113 was built by St Louis Car Co in 1903 as CUT 4642.  It was renumbered 1113 in 1913 and became CSL 1113 in 1914.  It was retired on October 14, 1944.
