614, Class J-3-a, was built by Lima in June 1948, #9306. It was renumbered 611 in July 1975 when it was leased to Richmond Fredericksburg & Potomac. It was retired in 1976 and stored to Baltimore & Ohio RR Museum. It was traded to Ross Rowland in 1979 when his Reading 2101 was damaged by fire. It was restored in 1980 as C&O 614 and used for Chessie Safety Express. It was set up for testing to compete with diesel and ran coal trains in January and February 1985 as American Coal Enterprises Inc 614T. It was returned as C&O 614 and used in excursion service for several years.
