This group of locomotives was built in five batches according to the information supplied by Peter Clark. The first, 1 and 2 were built by Keijo in 1927 as 751 and 752. They became 1 and 2 in the 1938 renumbering. 753 thru 758 were built by Kawasaki in 1927 and became 3 thru 8 in 1938. 759 thru 763 were built by Keijo in 1929 and became 9 thru 13 in 1938. 764 thru 789 were built by Hitachi, Mitsubishi, and Kawasaki between 1929 and 1937. They became 14 thru 39 in 1938. 40 thru 93 were built by Hitachi between 1937 and 1941. There is no explanation for 101. James Heffner's list indicates there were 178 ten-wheelers in all classes. 106 went to South Korea and 72 to North Korea in the 1947 partition.
TW6-23 was built as 773. It was renumbered TW6-23 in 1938.
TW6-25 was built as 775. It was renumbered TW6-25 in 1938.
TW6-32 was built as 782. It was renumbered TW6-32 in 1938.
TW6-82 was built by Hitachi.
TW6-93 was built by Hitachi in 1941.
