Schenectady Railway
The local street railway built three interurban lines beginning in 1901 when 16 miles was opened to Albany. In 1902 another 16 miles was opened to Troy. In 1904 a line was built to Ballston Spa and extended in 1905 to Saratoga Springs by electrifying trackage of the Delaware *& Hudson which owned the company jointly with the New York Central. On July 30, 1933, the Albany line was replaced by buses. On July 15, 1934, the Troy was closed, and the Saratoga Springs line lasted until December 6, 1941. The last city cars operated in 1946.
There was a complete roster provided by Harold E. Cox.
562 was built by Wason in 1901 as Albany & Hudson RR 40. The A&H became the Albany Southern in 1909 and sold the car to Schenectady in 1914 where it became 562. It was scrapped on November 8, 1942.
