In June, 1960, the Engineers and Engines magazine ran several pages of pictures of Baldwin locomotives which ran in Norway. Through the courtesy of the Illinois Prairie Railroad Foundation, we are reproducing these pictures. Remember, this was a photo offset magazine on pulp type paper, printed almost 40 years ago.
5 was a narrow gauge Baldwin Mogul built in 1898.
27 was a narrow gauge (1067mm) Baldwin Mogul built for the Roros line in 1889.
36 was a narrow gauge Baldwin Vauclain Compound Mogul built in 1896. It was still in service over 35 years later.
37 was a narrow gauge Baldwin American built in 1897.
39 was a narrow gauge Baldwin American built in 1898 for the Drammen line.
69 was a Baldwin standard gauge Consolidation built in 1898 for the Meraker line.
86 was a Baldwin narrow gauge Mogul built in 1916.
111 is one of the first Baldwins in Norway. Four of these standard gauge locomotives were built in 1879 and were in service for over 50 years.
